High losses of equipment and personnel have compelled the enemy to change its strategy, abandoning familiar methods of mass attacks in favor of covert actions by small groups. ### Abandoning armored vehicles as a consequence of losses This was stated in an interview by the commander of the 7th Air Assault Corps, Brigadier General Yevgeny Lasiychuk. According to him, the tactics of Russian troops were previously based on the use of armored personnel carriers and vehicles. Infantry would approach Ukrainian positions as closely as possible on vehicles and then launch an assault. However, this method became too vulnerable to Ukrainian defenders. Armored vehicles, carrying up to 20–30 servicemen, turned into easy targets. As a result, the Russian command decided to radically change its approach to offensive actions. ### Infiltration tactics: stealth instead of force Currently, the enemy has switched to infiltration tactics. Instead of large formations, small groups of 2–3 people enter the battle. Their task is to sneak unnoticed between Ukrainian battle lines, using terrain features and weather conditions. β€œFor example, an infantry fighting vehicle could transport 20–30 enemy servicemen to get as close as possible to our positions. Now this is no longer realistic because it is an easy target for us. And that is why the enemy has switched to using the infiltration tactics of small groups,” explains General Lasiychuk. Russian soldiers attempt to penetrate deep into the defense, establish a foothold there, and create a threat from the rear. However, despite the change in tactics, the effectiveness of such actions remains low β€” the occupiers' losses on the front continue to be significant. ### New challenges in the Pokrovsk direction Alongside the change in assault tactics, Russian troops near Pokrovsk have begun applying the latest combat methods using drones. This indicates an attempt to adapt to modern war conditions and find new ways to overcome Ukrainian defenses. At the same time, the international community continues to increase support for Ukraine. More than 20 countries have expressed their desire to join the coalition aimed at strengthening aid to the Ukrainian army. The number of coalition participants continues to grow, creating additional difficulties for Russian military plans.
