# New Starlink Rules in Ukraine: How Businesses and Citizens Can Verify Terminals

Updated rules for using Starlink satellite internet have come into force in Ukraine. Now, for the equipment to operate legally, it is necessary to undergo a verification procedure, which has its own features for businesses and private users. These changes are aimed at regulating the market and ensuring stable connectivity.

### What has changed in registration requirements

According to the updated rules, when submitting an application to register a terminal, you must specify the KIT number or UTID. These are key equipment identifiers that allow the system to uniquely identify the device. Without providing this data, verification is impossible.

### Instructions for legal entities

For companies, the process has become more digital and transparent. The registration service is now available on the government services portal «Diia». However, not everyone can use it: the right to submit an application is granted only to companies and separate units registered in the Unified State Register for more than one year.

In addition to the mandatory KIT number and UTID, businesses are recommended to specify additional data if available: Dish ID and Starlink account number. This will speed up the processing of the request.

An important innovation is the ability to remotely manage the equipment list. Legal entities can now independently remove Starlink terminals from the registry via the «Diia» portal, as well as order an extract with a list of all registered devices.

### How citizens and sole proprietors (FOP) can pass verification

Private individuals and individual entrepreneurs (FOP) will have to act differently. Verification is available for them through CNAPs (Centers for Providing Administrative Services), as well as at «Ukrposhta» and «Nova Poshta» branches.

The procedure requires personal presence: you must present the terminal itself and provide its identification data. After checking the information, the device will be added to the «white list», which guarantees its operation without restrictions.

### Development of communication technologies in the country

The update of terminal registration rules takes place against the backdrop of the active implementation of new satellite technologies. Previously, the operator «Kyivstar» announced the start of a new stage of testing the Starlink Direct to Cell technology in Ukraine.

In Light Data mode, users can already exchange messages in Viber and WhatsApp messengers, as well as use Google Maps even when there is a complete absence of terrestrial mobile coverage. This opens new horizons for connectivity in remote regions.
