The Government of Ukraine has decided to provide financial support to veterans who lost their sight during combat operations. The funds will be used to purchase specialized household appliances that can make the lives of blind defenders more comfortable and safe.

### The essence of the new initiative

As reported by Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko in her Telegram channel, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved a program under which veterans can receive up to 95,000 hryvnias to purchase adapted household appliances. This decision is aimed at creating a barrier-free environment and helping wounded soldiers integrate into daily life.

### How the program will be implemented

The program is being implemented with the support of the Ukrainian Red Cross Society. Financial assistance will allow defenders to purchase equipment specially designed for people with visual impairments, which will significantly simplify household tasks and increase the level of independence.

### Additional support measures

This decision is part of the government's systematic work to support veterans. Recently, another program was approved under which 2,100 veterans and families of fallen soldiers will receive compensation for purchasing housing. The preferential "єОселя" program, which allows military personnel and veterans to buy housing at a rate of from 3% per annum, is also still in effect.
