# New Ukrainian-made carriages launched on Kyiv – Uzhhorod and Uzhhorod – Dnipro routes

Ukrzaliznytsia passengers now have the opportunity to travel in updated carriages of domestic production. The company has included new rolling stock on popular routes to enhance travel comfort amid high demand.

### Introduction of new carriages on popular routes

Fresh carriages, manufactured in Ukraine, are already operating as part of train No. 29/30 on the Kyiv – Uzhhorod route. To maximize efficiency, these same carriages, upon arrival in Uzhhorod, immediately depart on the next trip – train No. 4/3 on the Uzhhorod – Dnipro route.

Considering previous deliveries, six new carriages are now operating on this route. The company emphasizes that this is a critically important addition to the fleet, aimed at solving the problem of rolling stock shortages.

### Rolling stock update statistics

The pace of updating railway equipment remains high. Since the beginning of the current year, Ukrzaliznytsia has received 18 new passenger carriages of Ukrainian production. The new rolling stock is equipped according to modern standards, guaranteeing passengers the maximum level of comfort during their journeys.

### Status of the "3000 km across Ukraine" program

In the summer of 2026, the "3000 km across Ukraine" program continues to operate in the country, allowing citizens to travel by rail for free within an annual limit. However, due to peak demand in June and July, the company was forced to limit the number of free seats and trips. The list of available trains for program participants changes daily depending on occupancy.

### The issue of air conditioning in trains

Amid the summer heat, passengers continue to complain about high temperatures in the compartments. Ukrzaliznytsia has explained why carriages without air conditioners are still being deployed on routes. A complete abandonment of such rolling stock would lead to an acute shortage of tickets and a collapse of transport, as modernizing the entire fleet requires significant investment and time, which is particularly difficult under wartime conditions.
