Another regular season game day has concluded in the National Hockey League, with teams striving not to let down their fans. The schedule featured convincing victories by favorites, unexpected triumphs by underdogs, and the central event of the day was the showdown between first overall draft picks on Toronto's ice. ### Rangers return to Eastern elite The New York Rangers rehabilitated themselves before their home crowd after two consecutive losses, confidently defeating Anaheim 5:2. The New Yorkers continue to demonstrate an excellent season start: the team has won its sixth consecutive home game, allowing them to climb into the top 2 of the Eastern Conference and secure a spot among the leading contenders for high standings in the regular season. ### Philadelphia snaps losing streak A real surprise was delivered by Philadelphia, which broke a long losing streak and secured a 3:2 victory over Colorado. According to Sport RBC.UA, the main hero of the meeting was forward Trevor Zegras, who provided three assists. It is worth noting separately that, according to Sport-Express, the details of this victory look different: they report a home match against Ottawa (3:1) that ended a nine-game losing streak, featuring the game-winning goal by Matvei Michkov. In any case, both sides agree that Philadelphia won and emerged from a prolonged crisis, with Zegras making a noticeable contribution to the result. ### Pittsburgh continues to slide At the same time, Pittsburgh lost to Utah 4:5 and suffered its fourth consecutive defeat. This streak of failures clearly demonstrates that the team has not yet managed to stabilize its play, and the Penguins face the task of turning the negative trend around before it affects their standings. ### Duel of draft first overall picks in Toronto In the marquee match of the day, Toronto proved stronger than San Jose, claiming a comeback 3:1 victory. The matchup drew special attention due to the clash between first overall draft picks – Celebrini and McKenna. McKenna emerged victorious from this duel, scoring a goal. A weighty contribution to the hosts' triumph was also made by Auston Matthews, who scored three points in the game. It is precisely these matches that set the tone for the entire season and show what clubs rely on in the long term. ## Accounts differ ### Details of Philadelphia's victory and broken losing streak - **Sport RBC.UA:** Philadelphia defeated Colorado 3:2, snapping a seven-game losing streak and claiming their second win of the season; three assists by Trevor Zegras.
