The night of June 2 became a time of trial for Kyiv and other regional centers of Ukraine. As a result of a combined attack by the Russian Armed Forces on the capital and several regions, large-scale fires, building destruction, and casualties were recorded. According to the latest data, four people have died, and more than 50 have been injured.

### Scale of Destruction in Kyiv

According to reports from Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES), strikes hit eight districts of the capital: Podilskyi, Shevchenkivskyi, Obolonskyi, Sviatoshynskyi, Solomianskyi, Holosiivskyi, Pecherskyi, and Darnytskyi. Damage affected residential buildings, educational institutions, commercial facilities, and infrastructure.

### Podilskyi District: Rubble and Fires

One of the most serious incidents occurred in the Podilskyi district — a hit on a nine-story residential building caused partial destruction of the upper floors. People may be trapped under the rubble. Currently, five injured people are known. Rescue operations are ongoing.

At other addresses in the district, fires of vehicles in open areas were recorded. A fire broke out in a four-story building on the territory of one of the educational institutions. Vehicles and a warehouse facility of a municipal enterprise are also burning.

### Obolon: Construction Site Cabin and Facade Damage

In the Obolonskyi district, a fire in a cabin on the territory of a construction site was recorded. In addition, the facade and roof of a nine-story residential building were partially damaged.

### Darnytskyi District: Gas Station, Apartments, and Business Center

In the Darnytskyi district, fire engulfed the territory of a gas station. In one of the 20-story residential buildings, a fire broke out in an apartment on the 16th floor. A private house caught fire on private property, and in a 24-story building, the fire engulfed the 9th floor — rescuers de-blocked one person.

A fire was also recorded on the territory of a trading area with the destruction of the second and third floors of the building. At other addresses, vehicles, office premises, small architectural forms (MAFs), and commercial buildings were burning. One of the business centers was completely engulfed in flames and destroyed.

### Other Districts: Facades, Roofs, and Unfinished Construction

In a five-story residential building, the facade and window glazing were damaged. In another place — minor damage to the roof of a nine-story building. Minor damage was also recorded on the territory of unfinished construction. Information continues to be clarified.

### Rescue Operations and Government Response

Rescuers, firefighters, medics, and other emergency services are working at all incident sites. The SES of Ukraine reports that the situation is under control but requires the continuation of search and rescue operations.

The combined attack by Russia on the night of June 2 affected not only Kyiv but also Dnipro, Kharkiv, and other regional centers. Large-scale fires and destruction were the result of simultaneous strikes on civilian infrastructure and residential areas.

Details of the attacks on Dnipro, Kyiv, and Kharkiv will be published in a separate RBK-Ukraine article.
