# Night over Kyiv: Mass Strike, Destruction, and Rescue Operations in Seven City Districts

The night of July 2 became a time of severe trial for Kyiv. The city suffered a massive combined strike, resulting in damage to residential quarters and civilian infrastructure across seven administrative districts. Russian forces employed a wide spectrum of weaponry: simultaneously, strike drones, ballistic missiles, and cruise missiles of various bases were deployed.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has released footage from the sites of the aftermath of the attack. The videos show rescuers extinguishing fires and working amidst smoke and destruction.

### Fires and Destruction in Shevchenkivskyi District

Special attention in the report is paid to the situation in Shevchenkivskyi District. Here, a fire was recorded on a common roof connecting a 7-story residential building and a hotel. Significant areas are engulfed in flames, and firefighters are actively working to localize the fire using aerial ladders.

In another part of the district, rescuers extinguished a fire in a residential 5-story building. The fire covered an area of 300 square meters. Additionally, damage to another 5-story building and a fire in a 3-story non-residential building were documented.

### Consequences of Strikes in Darnytskyi and Pecherskyi Districts

In Darnytskyi District, strikes caused damage to both multi-apartment and private buildings. Partial destruction of 5- and 9-story residential buildings was recorded. The upper floors of a 16-story building were seriously damaged, and several private homes were destroyed.

In Pecherskyi District, a 9-story building sustained damage. A fire covering an area of 200 square meters broke out, engulfing the first and second floors. At this location, rescuers managed to evacuate one person from the danger zone.

### Emergencies in Other Districts of the Capital

In Obolonskyi District, a fire broke out on the territory of a warehouse site. The situation was complicated by the presence of a casualty: people independently delivered him to the nearest fire station, where SES personnel provided first aid.

In Holosiivskyi District, the consequences of the attack led to a fire on the technical floor of a 16-story residential building. In Sviatoshynskyi District, damage to two private residential houses was recorded, and in Desnyanskyi — destruction in a residential 9-story building. Emergency services continue to work at all the specified locations.

### Warning and Scale of the Threat

The massive nature of the attack was predicted in advance. The day before, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, relying on Ukrainian intelligence data, publicly warned citizens about the enemy's preparation for a large-scale night strike. The head of state called on the population to strictly observe safety rules, which is critically important given the use of high-precision weapons and drones.
