# No outages on Saturday: 'Ukrenergo' changes consumption rules due to heat

On Saturday, July 4, scheduled power outage schedules will not be in effect in Ukraine. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing a statement from the state energy holding company 'Ukrenergo'.

### Strategy shift: from schedules to conservation mode

Despite the cancellation of mandatory outages, the distribution system operator is calling on citizens to manage their energy consumption consciously. Experts recommend shifting the use of high-power household appliances to daytime hours — from 10:00 to 16:00. It is during this period that industrial solar power plants operate at maximum efficiency, providing additional generation.

In the evening period, from 16:00 to 23:00, the situation changes. During this time, the load on the power system traditionally increases, so citizens are asked to limit electricity consumption to avoid overloads.

### Crisis causes: heat and infrastructure

Previously, the introduction of schedules was a forced measure triggered by a sharp spike in consumption against the backdrop of abnormal heat. The mass activation of air conditioners increased the load on the power system by at least 25%.

Other factors also contributed to the power deficit:

- Scheduled equipment repairs.

- Restoration of infrastructure damaged as a result of Russian attacks.

- Reduction in electricity import volumes.

### Geography of problems: from Sumy to Donetsk region

Today, emergency outage schedules were introduced in Kyiv and several regions due to equipment overload. If previously the most difficult situation was observed in the Sumy region, now the focus of problems has shifted to the Donetsk region. In this region, the power system is under colossal pressure due to constant shelling, making the restoration and maintenance of network operations an extremely difficult task.
