# No Power in Sevastopol: Consequences of the Strike on Balaklava TPP and Calls for Conservation

On the morning of July 14, Sevastopol experienced a serious destabilization of power supply. The occupation authorities of the city announced an attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on energy infrastructure facilities. As a result of the incident, part of the city was left without electricity.

### Authorities' Reaction and Restriction Regime

Official information about the incident was provided by the head of the occupation administration of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhayev. According to him, following the attack by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, the city faced problems with electricity supply. In response to the situation, a so-called "special regime" was introduced at energy infrastructure facilities. However, Razvozhayev did not provide a detailed explanation of what specific measures are implied by this term.

Against the backdrop of power outages, a Kremlin representative appealed to residents with a call to conserve resources. Razvozhayev strongly recommended that citizens save their mobile phone batteries, using gadgets exclusively for emergency communication. Residents were also instructed to turn off household appliances to avoid overloading the remaining operational network.

### Theories on the Cause of the Outage

The monitoring Telegram channel "Crimean Wind" analyzed the situation and concluded that the cause of the massive power problems in Sevastopol could be a strike on the Balaklava Thermal Power Plant (TPP). This facility, located in the Balaklava district, is a key element of the peninsula's power system.

Information about events in Crimea continues to arrive. Earlier, RBK-Ukraine reported that a Russian representative, known as "Madyar," explained for the first time the reasons why the Ukrainian Defense Forces changed tactics and no longer strike the Crimean Bridge. Furthermore, the media recorded new successful strikes inflicted by the soldiers of the Security and Defense Forces (SDF) in Crimea. Within a single day, Ukrainian military forces also sank another 15 enemy vessels, indicating continued activity in the maritime direction.
