The world of portable computing is on the brink of a global transformation. At Computex 2026, tech giant NVIDIA unveiled its vision of the future, where a laptop ceases to be just a work tool and becomes a full-fledged intelligent partner. This has become possible thanks to the ambitious RTX Spark chip, officially presented as a "superchip".

This presentation became one of the largest events in the industry in recent decades. The processor was developed as part of a broad alliance between NVIDIA, Microsoft, and MediaTek. It is the world's first silicon platform for Windows, created from scratch based on ARM architecture specifically for the needs of autonomous local AI agents, complex 3D rendering, and high-performance gaming.

### Technological Breakthrough: RTX Spark Specifications

The technical specifications of the new chip are impressive even to experienced specialists. RTX Spark is manufactured using TSMC's cutting-edge 3-nanometer process. Its design is based on a chiplet architecture, where two dies are integrated using the high-speed NVLink-C2C interconnect. This ensures data exchange at speeds of up to 600 gigabytes per second.

The central processor contains 20 NVIDIA Grace cores, developed jointly with MediaTek. The graphics block is based on the Blackwell architecture and features 6144 CUDA cores, fifth-generation Tensor cores, and RT cores for ray tracing. The chip's total AI performance reaches 1 petaflop.

The main feature of the system is the integration of up to 128 gigabytes of unified LPDDR5X memory, accessible by both the CPU and GPU. This allows for running heavy AI models and working with large volumes of data directly on the device.

### Reinventing the PC

"We are reinventing the PC. For forty years, you launched programs. Click. Type. With RTX Spark and Microsoft Windows, you ask — and the PC does the work," commented NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang.

Microsoft and NVIDIA assure that the new device offers graphics performance close to the RTX 5070, while maintaining the philosophy of autonomy and efficiency of Windows on ARM. Programs like Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Blender, DaVinci Resolve, Cinema4D, Affinity, Cubase, or CapCut are already optimized for this new platform. Even Prism can now use the RTX Spark GPU to accelerate x86 applications.

### The First Wave of Devices

The first wave of devices from leading manufacturers is hitting the market, each trying to maximize the potential of the new superchip.

**ASUS** presented two models for content creators. Both laptops are equipped with high-capacity batteries: 99.9 watt-hours for the flagship model and 90 watt-hours for the entry-level one. One of the "2-in-1" devices can rotate 360 degrees. It features a 16-inch UHD+ tandem OLED display and supports the MSI Nano Pen stylus, which is stored directly in the chassis.

**Microsoft** presented a new device called the most powerful in the Surface family. It will come with a 15-inch mini-LED screen with a record brightness of up to 2000 nits. Engineers have developed a new cooling system with two fans that allows the chip to run at full power without overheating. If all promises are kept, the Surface Laptop Ultra could become the first real competitor to the MacBook Pro with Apple Silicon.

**Dell** has also updated its premium lineup, adding support for RTX Spark and up to 128 gigabytes of unified memory. The laptop features a tandem OLED display and a full set of ports, including HDMI and an SD card reader, which is critical for professional video editing.

After years of watching Apple dominate the segment of ultra-powerful and efficient laptops, Microsoft and its partners are responding with devices that aim to redefine what a Windows PC can be in 2026.
