# For fuel and freedom: TCC official in Odesa demanded a bribe to remove a man from the wanted list

A major scandal is unfolding in the Odesa region regarding the activities of Territorial Recruitment Centers (TCC). The National Police of Ukraine reported the detention of the head of one of the departments of a district military commissariat, who attempted to receive a bribe in the form of 500 liters of diesel fuel.

### The scheme: fuel instead of mobilization

According to the investigation, the official was approached by the deputy head of a critically important enterprise. The initiative came from the business side: a company representative wanted to know the procedure for paying a fine for an employee who is currently wanted by the military commissariat. The goal was the legal employment of the worker.

Instead of explaining the legal procedures, the official proposed a different scheme. He demanded vouchers for 500 liters of diesel fuel, which currently cost almost 45,000 hryvnias. In exchange for this fuel, the official promised to "resolve the issue" and remove the man from the wanted list, bypassing official procedures.

The situation amounted to blackmail: in the event of a refusal, the official threatened the worker with forced mobilization.

### Operational detention

The enterprise representative did not agree to the deal and immediately contacted law enforcement agencies. Police officers, together with the SBU, conducted an operational operation, documented the crime, and detained the suspect.

Investigators have already informed the TCC official of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (receiving a bribe by an official). For committing this crime, he faces imprisonment for up to 10 years. Currently, the issue of selecting a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.

### Departmental reaction

The incident attracted the attention not only of law enforcement but also of the regional administration itself. Earlier, sources reported the detention of the district military commissar Dobroslav, although official details of the case were not disclosed. Later, the Odesa Regional TCC confirmed that the SBU was conducting procedural activities against an official of one of the district centers.

The department stated that it is fully cooperating with law enforcement agencies during the investigative actions to establish all circumstances of the case.
