Former Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Olena Stefanishyna has publicly acknowledged that she currently lacks the financial means to post a bail of 6 million hryvnias, set by the court in the case regarding illegal enrichment.

She made this statement in an interview with Radio Liberty, as reported by RBC-Ukraine. According to Stefanishyna, she does not have 13, 10, or even 6 million hryvnias available, but she intends to seek funding sources to secure her release on bail.

In addition to seeking funds, Stefanishyna stated her intention to consult with lawyers regarding the possibility of appealing the court's decision on the preventive measure. During the conversation, she also touched upon her future plans, confirming that she has received offers for new employment. However, she emphasized that these plans are not related to state service.

### Details of the Criminal Proceedings

Recall that on August 6, the High Anti-Corruption Court (HACC) selected bail as the preventive measure for the former ambassador. The court also imposed a number of restrictions on her, including a ban on contact with several figures in the case, in particular Tetyana Mazurenko.

The prosecution claims that between June and July 2024, Olena Stefanishyna instructed Mazurenko to purchase two apartments in the elite residential complex "Fine Town." Furthermore, the indictment points out that the former ambassador did not declare expenses for housing repairs, real estate rental, the use of a Mercedes-Benz car, as well as the payment of airline tickets and medical treatment for her mother.

The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for October 10 at 15:00.

### Context of Resignation and Investigation

The case against Stefanishyna is developing against the backdrop of her recent resignation. On August 3, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed her from the post of ambassador. Criminal proceedings regarding possible unlawful actions by the former diplomat were opened by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAPO) a year ago. A new suspicion from the NABU and SAPO was served to Stefanishyna on August 5.

After the court session where the preventive measure was selected, Stefanishyna told journalists that she and her family are receiving threats.
