According to recent data, US Congress representatives and committees have directed the overwhelming majority of their AI tool expenditures to OpenAI products over the last year.

### Absolute Dominance of ChatGPT

A report by the Oversight and Reform Committee (KNBC) revealed impressive statistics: ChatGPT has become the most popular and financially demanded platform among American legislators. Spending data from the House of Representatives, its committees, and institutional accounts shows that by March 31, 2025, nearly 90% of all funds spent on AI tools went directly to OpenAI.

This figure indicates a sharp increase in demand for modern technologies within government agencies. AI has ceased to be an exotic novelty and has become a standard working tool for congressmen.

### Competition and Figures

Despite OpenAI's hegemony, there is competition in this spending category. Anthropic's Claude service, one of OpenAI's main rivals, took second place. $13,160 was spent on this tool across 37 transactions. However, these figures do not compare to the funding volumes allocated to OpenAI solutions.

It is important to note that these figures reflect only direct expenses and do not include free accounts or AI services included in other comprehensive software packages. The actual penetration of technology into Congress's work may be even higher.
