The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has detailed the mechanism of how the assessment of insurance length and salary of citizens continuing to work after retirement is carried out. ### Conditions for accounting for the new salary

The main condition for PFU specialists to recalculate the pension taking into account the current (higher) salary is the acquisition of at least 24 months of insurance experience after the assignment or previous recalculation of the benefit. If this experience threshold is overcome, the fund performs a comparative analysis of the pensioner's income. ### Calculation methodology and earnings since 2000

During the recalculation process, the Pension Fund takes into account the citizen's official earnings for the entire period of insurance experience starting from July 1, 2000. At the same time, the law protects the pensioner's interests: if the new earnings calculation turns out to be lower than the one used during the initial pension assignment, the agency may take into account only the increase in insurance experience, leaving the salary coefficient unchanged. Additionally, in cases defined by law, it is permitted to account for 60 months of earnings for the period before July 2000 if all necessary supporting documents are available and insurance contributions were paid from these payments.
