# Personal Return Plan: How the New 'Dodomu' Platform Works for Ukrainians Abroad

A special digital tool has been launched for Ukrainians planning to return home from abroad. The 'Dodomu' platform (dodomu.unity.gov.ua) allows users to create a step-by-step reintegration plan tailored to their family's individual needs — from finding housing to enrolling children in schools.

### Launch and Initial Results

The project was unveiled in late June during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC 2026) in Gdańsk. The official presentation took place in Kyiv, where Dmytro Ulyutin, the Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine, announced the service's initial performance metrics.

Within a week of its launch, the platform was visited by over 10,000 users. The reach covers more than 10 countries, with the majority of traffic coming from Germany, Poland, and the Czech Republic — nations hosting the largest Ukrainian populations.

### How the Return Plan is Formed

The service's main function is creating a personalized roadmap for return. To do this, the user must complete a short survey, which takes no more than three minutes. Based on the answers, the system generates a detailed list of steps necessary for reintegration.

The algorithm accounts for specific requests. For example, if there are children in the family, the plan automatically includes stages for finding kindergartens and schools, as well as information on available benefits. Each step is accompanied by links to resources and contact details for organizations providing support both in Ukraine and in the country of residence.

### Technical Capabilities and Support

The generated plan is saved automatically. After registering on the resource, the user can track the completion of items online. The platform also contains a database of centers abroad where one can receive consultations regarding return.

The importance of the project was emphasized by Katrin Buchholz, the Chargé d'Affaires of Germany in Ukraine. She noted that people are the main driving force behind the country's recovery; therefore, supporting voluntary return requires not only high-quality public services but also close interaction between the state, local communities, and international partners.

Ilona Havronska, Deputy Minister of Social Policy, Family, and Unity of Ukraine for European Integration, urged citizens to actively use the initiative, highlighting its role in Ukraine's social recovery.
