At the opening of the "Ramstein" format meeting, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius delivered a harsh assessment of the current situation in the conflict. According to him, Vladimir Putin has reached a dead end, and the aggression against Ukraine is causing colossal damage to Russia, which is becoming increasingly obvious to the Kremlin.

Pistorius emphasized that the Ukrainian side is inflicting increasingly tangible harm on the enemy. Despite this, the Russian leader is choosing the path of escalation, ignoring calls from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to resume negotiations.

### Escalation as a response to defeats

The German minister pointed out the direct threat posed by Moscow's actions. In his opinion, the escalation is directed directly against the Ukrainian people and NATO allies on the eastern flank. Pistorius noted that the Kremlin does not want to admit its defeats on the battlefield and, despite losses, strives to continue the war.

"Putin does not want to think about his defeats on the battlefield, and despite the losses, he wants to continue the war," declared the head of the German defence ministry.

### Support strategy and new priorities

The key conclusion of the speech was the confirmation of unwavering support for Kyiv. Pistorius emphasized that continuing assistance is the only way that allows Ukraine to expand its success on the battlefield. The focus of the current meeting is the coordination of this support.

Earlier, Ukrainian Defence Minister Mykhailo Fedorov outlined the country's main defence priorities ahead of the meeting in Ramstein. These included:

    - Strengthening the air defence (PVO) system;

    - Deliveries of long-range artillery;

    - Deliveries of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Meanwhile, the "G7" countries published a statement on the agreement to increase supplies of air defence systems, anti-aircraft systems, and interceptor missiles to Ukraine. In addition, the agenda includes the issue of transferring licenses to Kyiv for the production of foreign weapons directly at Ukrainian factories.
