# Declassified aid scale: Poland reveals details of MiG-29 and Patriot missile deliveries to Ukraine

Poland has officially released extensive data on the military support provided to Ukraine between 2022 and 2023. The country's Minister of Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, confirmed that Warsaw has transferred a significant package of weapons to Kyiv, including MiG-29 fighter jets, Mi-24 attack helicopters, and PAC-3 missiles for Patriot air defense systems.

### Financial scale of support

According to the minister, the peak of Polish aid occurred during the first two years of the full-scale invasion. The estimated cost of deliveries for 2022 and 2023 amounted to approximately 15 billion zlotys. For comparison, the volume of aid provided from the beginning of 2024 to the present is estimated at 1.55 billion zlotys.

Kosiniak-Kamysz stated at a press conference that the process of declassifying data began voluntarily. He emphasized that Warsaw is not hiding information due to pressure but is doing so because it is proud of the support provided. Precise detailed data will be provided later, but key facts have already become public knowledge.

### Role in the coalition and NATO commitments

The minister noted that many deliveries are the result of commitments undertaken within the framework of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG). Poland plays an active role in this coalition, heading an important working group on armored vehicles. It is thanks to this initiative that tanks and armored personnel carriers were transferred to Ukraine, making Poland one of the largest donors in this segment.

"Aid to Ukraine is also a NATO obligation," added Kosiniak-Kamysz, pointing to the systematic nature of the support.

### Patriot missile deliveries

Particular attention was paid to the transfer of missiles for air defense systems. Poland is one of the six NATO countries using Patriot systems with PAC-3 missiles. The decision to transfer part of the ammunition to Ukraine was made at the request of the NATO Secretary General and the US European Command.

"The quantity being transferred is within our capabilities," the Defense Minister assured, confirming that Warsaw continues to protect the Ukrainian sky from Russian attacks.

### Domestic reaction

Despite support from the government and Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the decision to declassify the information has sparked criticism at the highest levels of power. The President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki (referred to as Karol Nawrocki in the source text), believes that publishing such data is a mistaken step. Supporters of the president believe that information about military aid should remain classified for security reasons.
