# Logistics boom: warehouse wages in Poland are rising faster than anywhere else

A clear hierarchy has emerged in the Polish labor market: the highest wage growth rates have been recorded in logistics and warehousing. Over the last year, compensation in this sector increased by 8.1%, significantly outpacing indicators in most other economic sectors.

These figures are confirmed by research from the analytical center of the international recruitment company Gremi Personal. As of May, the average salary in logistics reached 9,522 PLN gross. This surge is driven not only by inflation but also by the real competition among employers for personnel.

### The gap between economic sectors

The situation in the Polish labor market is no longer uniform. While logistics wages are hitting record highs, the dynamics in related industries are more modest. The second place in terms of growth rates was taken by the transport equipment manufacturing sector: here, payrolls grew by 7.1%, reaching an average of 10,482 PLN.

At the same time, stagnation is observed in traditional industries. Wages grew slowest in food production — only 3.1% over the year (up to 7,704 PLN). Moderate increases, not exceeding 5%, were recorded in the furniture industry (+4.3%), automotive manufacturing (+4.4%), and metallurgy (+4.7%).

### Labor shortage and the warehouse boom

Experts link the anomalous growth in logistics incomes to two factors: an acute shortage of workers and active construction of warehouse infrastructure. According to Colliers, in the first quarter of 2026, gross demand for warehouse space in Poland increased by more than 40% year-on-year.

"Where demand is growing, companies continue to compete for workers by raising wages. However, where production or sales remain weak, employers are shifting to a policy of cost control," explained Yevgeny Kirichenko, founder of Gremi Personal.

Due to the shortage of people, companies are forced to turn to recruitment agencies more actively and offer better conditions to retain their staff.

### Slowing down of the general "wage race"

Despite the success of logistics workers, the overall picture for the business sector indicates a slowdown in rates. In May, the average salary in the economy was 9,173.2 PLN gross, which is 5.8% higher than a year ago. This is lower than the peak indicators of previous years.

Analysts at Gremi Personal forecast that mass raises will become rare in the second half of the year. Employers will raise wages selectively — only for the most scarce professions where competition for employees remains most acute.
