# Poland tests sirens: 'Alarm-26' drills and new threats in the Baltic region

On July 21, Poland will conduct a large-scale test of its public warning systems. Sirens will sound across the country as part of training maneuvers codenamed 'Alarm-26'. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine citing the Polish publication Interia Wydarzenia.

### 'Alarm-26' Drills: Schedule and Rules

The test of sound signals will last all day — from 7:00 to 19:00. During the tests, two acoustic alarm signals will be issued in accordance with current civil defense regulations. The Polish Government Security Bureau urges citizens to remain calm, emphasizing that the drills are conducted solely for training purposes and do not indicate a real threat.

### Context: Tensions in the Region

The decision to test warning systems was made against the backdrop of rising military activity in the region. Just five days before the drills, on July 16, three Russian military aircraft were spotted in the airspace over the Baltic Sea. They were intercepted by Polish fighters — an incident that became another cause for concern in Warsaw.

### New Readiness Status and Concerns Over Provocations

Poland is considering the introduction of a new legal status — 'state of full national readiness for war'. This decision may be linked to growing concerns among authorities regarding possible provocations. In particular, Polish security structures do not rule out that Russia might attempt to organize an operation under a false flag, using Ukrainian drones as a tool of destabilization.

Thus, the siren test on July 21 is not just a technical event, but part of a broader strategy to prepare for potential threats amid the escalation of the geopolitical situation in Eastern Europe.
