Significant changes have occurred in Ukraine's political landscape. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has decided to dismiss Yulia Sviridenko from the position of Prime Minister. According to sources, the head of state discussed the details of these personnel changes directly with the current head of government. Both parties concluded that updating the composition of the Cabinet of Ministers is necessary to implement a renewed political strategy.

### New horizons for the former Prime Minister

Despite leaving the post of head of government, Yulia Sviridenko is not leaving the sphere of power. Zelenskyy thanked her for her "clear, stable, and effective work" during her year of leading the country. Instead of a dismissal in the classical sense, the President offered Sviridenko to head a new significant direction in relations with a key partner of Ukraine.

"I am grateful to Yulia for years of productive work in the team of Ukraine and have offered her to head a new significant direction," Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated in his Telegram channel. He also emphasized that, together with parliamentarians, he will carry out the necessary replacements in the government.

### Political background

Yulia Sviridenko took the seat of Prime Minister relatively recently. In July 2025, the President announced the need to update the executive branch. Prior to this, Sviridenko had held the post of First Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy since 2021. The Verkhovna Rada approved the updated composition of the Cabinet of Ministers under her leadership, which led to a change in the heads of several ministries.

### Expansion of reforms

Personnel changes are not limited to the government. The President of Ukraine announced that the changes will also affect the heads of law enforcement agencies. These steps are intended to guarantee the implementation of the state's new political strategy.
