Among those subjected to raids was the well-known businessman Vasyl Vesely. According to sources, the entrepreneur has not yet been detained, and no official suspicion has been announced against him. However, the fact of the investigative actions indicates that Vesely has come under the scrutiny of the investigation as part of a high-profile case related to the so-called "Mindich tapes". ### Kickback scheme in the energy sector Events are unfolding against the backdrop of the exposure of a large-scale corruption network, which the NABU and the SAPO uncovered back in the autumn of last year under the code name "Midas". Law enforcement officers established that a criminal group systematically took kickbacks from contracting companies fulfilling orders for the state-owned nuclear power company "Energoatom". The investigation found that the participants of the scheme channeled illegal income through a special office located in the center of Kyiv. One of the central figures in this investigation was businessman Timur Mindich, previously known as a business partner of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Investigators name Mindich (nicknamed "Carlson") and businessman Alexander Tzukerman ("Sugarman") as key figures. According to the SAPO, during 2025, Mindich exerted influence on the current Minister of Energy, Hennadiy Halushchenko, and the former Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov. ### Consequences for officials and business The law enforcement operation led to significant personnel changes. Against the backdrop of the investigation, the Minister of Energy, Svetlana Hrynychuk, and the Minister of Justice, Hennadiy Halushchenko, who previously headed the Ministry of Energy, were dismissed. Investigators also conducted raids at the "Energoatom" company. During the investigation, law enforcement officers concluded that Mindich left the country a few hours before the start of the large-scale raids. At the same time, the former Minister of National Unity, Oleksiy Chernyshov, received an official suspicion of illegal enrichment. The court selected a preventive measure for him, and bail has already been posted on his behalf. In total, the NABU announced suspicions against seven other participants in the corruption scheme. In parallel, another high-profile case is developing β€” "Dynasty" β€” in which the former head of the President's Office, Andriy Yermak, became a figure. He was suspected of money laundering through the construction of elite real estate in the village of Kozyn near Kyiv. The court selected a preventive measure for Yermak in the form of detention with the possibility of posting bail in the amount of 140 million hryvnias. ### New "leaks" and discussion of defense orders During the investigation, the NABU released audio recordings featuring Mindich and other high-ranking officials. Recently, the "Ukrainska Pravda" publication published new fragments of the so-called "Mindich tapes". According to journalists, on the recordings, Umerov and Mindich discuss the possibility of selling the Fire Point company, which specializes in the production of missiles and drones, to foreign investors. The press service of Rustem Umerov noted that the authenticity of these recordings still needs to be established, and law enforcement agencies will deal with this issue.
