# Rain, thunderstorms, and changeable weather: forecasters warn of weather surprises in Ukraine on June 18

On June 18, Ukraine will experience changeable weather: in some regions, the sky will remain clear, while in others, clouds will gather, and rain of varying intensity will occur in places. Forecasters warn that the weather will change rapidly, and residents of different regions should be prepared for surprises.

### Where will rain and thunderstorms arrive?

According to the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, moderate rain is expected in the southern and eastern regions, as well as at night in most central areas. On the northeast of the country, short-term rain and thunderstorms are possible during the day. Special attention should be paid to the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, where significant precipitation is forecast for the night hours.

Meanwhile, the rest of Ukraine will remain dry during the day. In Kyiv and the Kyiv region, variable cloudiness is expected, but no precipitation is anticipated.

### Temperature range: from cool to summer warmth

Nighttime air temperatures will range from 9 to 14 degrees Celsius, and from 15 to 19 degrees in the south and southeast. During the day, thermometers will rise to 20–25 degrees. In Kyiv, the night temperature is expected to be 11–13 degrees, while daytime air will warm up to 21–23 degrees.

### Weather in the context of climate change

This forecast comes against the backdrop of recent climate anomalies. Last month, Europe experienced one of the hottest Mays in recorded history. Temperature records were broken in several countries amid an unusually early heatwave.

According to the latest forecasts, strong heat will again prevail over a significant part of Europe in the second half of June. Experts remind us that climate change is having an increasingly noticeable impact on weather conditions in Ukraine and other countries on the continent.
