# Record-breaking heat: Thermometers hit historical highs in Ukraine on July 1

July 1st has become a true test for the residents of Ukraine. Thermometer readings in several regional centers have confidently surpassed historical marks, recording new heat records. According to data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center (UkrGMC), published on Facebook, anomalous heat continues to dominate the forecasts.

### New historical highs

Experts at UkrGMC confirmed that in certain regions, daily maximums have again exceeded their previous historical values. The difference between current readings and records from past years ranges from 0.1 to 2.9°C. This indicates that weather conditions in early July 2026 have become extreme for many regions.

Specialists clarified that data from the Simferopol meteorological station is received via the World Meteorological Organization's Global Telecommunication System, guaranteeing the reliability of the information. For detailed information on specific regions, UkrGMC recommends turning to the pages of local hydrometeorological centers on social media.

### Weather change expected

Despite the current anomaly, meteorologists promise imminent relief. On Friday, July 3, a cold atmospheric front will pass over Ukraine. Synoptic Natalka Didenko warned that this front will bring not only brief rains and thunderstorms but also gusty winds in some areas.

The main result of the change in air masses will be a sharp drop in temperature to comfortable levels. This will be a pleasant contrast after several days when the heat broke records, including Monday, June 29, and Tuesday, June 30.
