Retirees living abroad or in occupied territories now have access to a new tool to control their financial future. The Pension Fund of Ukraine (PFU) has launched and tested a special online service that allows real-time tracking of the physical identification status. This is a critical step to ensure uninterrupted payments in 2026.

### How the "My Identification" service works

According to information provided by RBC-Ukraine, the new functionality is hosted on the Pension Fund's electronic services web portal. The service, called "My Identification," is designed to allow citizens to independently verify the successful completion of the identity confirmation procedure. If the system records a successful identification, it means that pension accruals for the next year will continue without interruption.

Previously, online verification had already become a mandatory condition for extending payments for certain categories of citizens. Now, the focus shifts to transparency and the ability for self-control. A retiree no longer needs to guess whether an application was processed or if technical glitches occurred—the result is available in the personal account.

### The video conferencing procedure

The physical identification procedure in 2026 is conducted remotely. A personal visit to a fund branch is not required to confirm the right to receive state payments. It is sufficient to undergo a video conference with a PFU specialist. The process looks like this:

- The citizen submits a preliminary application through the Pension Fund web portal.

- A time is scheduled for a video call with a fund employee.

- During the conversation, the specialist confirms the retiree's identity.

After the procedure is completed, the decision on the identification is sent to the applicant. The result can be obtained in two ways: via email or through the personal account on the PFU web portal. This algorithm ensures reliability and helps avoid bureaucratic delays.
