# Rosatom Container Ship 'Yatina' Sinks in the Black Sea After Drone Attack: All Crew Members Rescued

A serious incident occurred in the Black Sea: the container ship 'Yatina', owned by the Rosatom structure, was sunk as a result of an attack by unmanned aerial vehicles. This was reported on Saturday, August 1, by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in his Telegram channel.

### Attack Details and Vessel Specifications

According to the Ukrainian leader, the vessel was sailing under the flag of the Russian Federation and had a capacity of over 100,000 tons. After the drone strike, the container ship "went to the bottom." The attack took place in international waters — 130 nautical miles (approximately 240 km) from Novorossiysk, as clarified by the Rosatom press service.

Corporation head Alexey Likhachev stated that the cargo on board consisted exclusively of civilian goods: from frozen food to construction and finishing materials. The ship was traveling from India to the port of Novorossiysk, which is confirmed by MarineTraffic data.

### Rescue Operation

Despite the scale of the sinking, no human casualties were reported. On the night of August 1, the rescue vessel Delphinus headed to the scene and evacuated 16 of the 17 crew members. The last sailor was found later and brought ashore with the help of a helicopter from the Black Sea Fleet's naval aviation. All rescued individuals are in satisfactory condition.

### Context and Company Status

The container ship 'Yatina' belongs to the company FESCO, which is part of the Rosatom structure. As noted by the publication 'Economic Truth', FESCO is under sanctions from Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. It is one of Russia's largest transport companies, owning assets in the port, railway, and logistics sectors. The group's fleet numbers more than 30 vessels.

### Operation 'MoLoChKa'

The attack on 'Yatina' was part of a broader campaign. Robert Brovdi, Commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, reported on July 30 that since July 6, as part of Operation 'MoLoChKa' (which stands for 'MOSCOW Will Lie Through Crimea'), 205 Russian tankers were hit: 130 in the Sea of Azov and 75 in the Black Sea. The operation demonstrates the growing activity of Ukrainian unmanned systems against Russian shipping.
