## 🎯 Key Points

- Daria Snigur crushed Tailah Preston 6:1, 6:0 in just 48 minutes.
- The Ukrainian reached the Round of 16 of a WTA 1000 tournament for the first time in her career.
- In the next round, Snigur will face world number five Mirra Andreeva.

Ukraine's third-ranked player and world number 46 Daria Snigur continues her confident and triumphant campaign at the prestigious WTA 1000 hard-court tournament in Beijing. In the third round match, the Ukrainian tennis player demonstrated a phenomenal level of play, leaving absolutely no chance for Australia's Tailah Preston. This duel became a showcase of Ukrainian sport on the international arena, confirming the athlete's top-tier class and excellent physical shape.

### Match progression and total dominance

Snigur and Preston, ranked 91st in the WTA world rankings, had never faced each other in official matches before. Nevertheless, the debut head-to-head confrontation went entirely according to the Ukrainian's script from the first to the last minute. The meeting lasted only 48 minutes, turning into a real tennis masterclass. In the first set, Daria instantly seized the initiative: winning the opening game on her serve, she twice broke her opponent's serve and took a 5:0 lead. Only after that did the Australian manage to get on the board, but Snigur coolly closed out the set at 6:1.

### Historic breakthrough in Beijing

The second set was a mirror image of the first, but with an even more crushing scoreline. Daria broke her opponent's serve right in the opening game, after which she completely controlled the rallies and added two more breaks to her tally. Tailah Preston failed to win a single game, losing the set 0:6. This devastating victory allowed Daria Snigur to reach the Round of 16 of a WTA 1000 category tournament for the first time in her professional career. Moreover, she became the first Ukrainian female tennis player to reach this stage at the current tournament in Beijing.

### Future prospects and top opponents

Now the Ukrainian athlete faces a fundamentally new level of resistance and her most serious test at the tournament. In the fourth round, Daria's opponent will be world number five Mirra Andreeva, competing under a neutral status. For Snigur, this will be only the second career match against a representative of the elite top 5 in the world rankings. Recall that in April of this year, she already played against star Polish tennis player Iga Swiatek on the clay courts in Madrid, where she suffered a defeat. Meanwhile, other Ukrainian players continue their battles on the Chinese courts: Elina Svitolina is preparing for a match against Greece's Maria Sakkari, while Dayana Yastremska has concluded her singles campaign.
