US Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the fact of negotiations between President Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, which concerned Moscow's proposals for resolving the war. However, according to the diplomat, these initiatives did not find support in Kyiv. ### The '3+2' Plan and Kyiv's Position While speaking with journalists, the head of the US State Department answered a question about the relevance of the proposals voiced by Putin to Trump in Anchorage. Rubio emphasized that the Kremlin's efforts in this direction proved futile. Ukraine categorically refused the approach promoted by Moscow. "The proposals that were reported β€” they call it '3+2', division of territories β€” these attempts failed. Because a peace agreement cannot be concluded if both sides do not agree to it, and the Ukrainians did not agree to it," Rubio explained. ### The Need for New Solutions In the opinion of the American diplomat, the current situation requires the search for fundamentally new ideas. The option that was proposed earlier proved unacceptable for Ukraine then and, probably, has become even less acceptable now. "Undoubtedly, that option was unacceptable for Ukraine then. And I don't think it is acceptable for them now. In fact, it is probably even less acceptable for them," Rubio added. The US is ready to offer its concepts for ending the war, but only on the condition that they correspond to the interests of all parties. "And we are ready to offer some of them under appropriate conditions and in the appropriate form," the Secretary of State concluded. ### Negotiation Context Earlier, it was reported that the US is ready to intervene in the war between the RF and Ukraine, but subject to certain conditions.
