# Blow to logistics: Russia attacks Nova Poshta terminal in Zaporizhzhia

On July 2, powerful explosions rocked Zaporizhzhia. Russian forces struck another piece of infrastructure — the sorting center of the logistics company Nova Poshta. The attack occurred during the day, after the city had already been warned of the threat.

### Timeline of the attack

Events unfolded rapidly. Around 12:00, Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration (RMA), warned residents of the region about a possible attack by combat drones. Just half an hour later, he confirmed that the enemy strike had been carried out.

"The smoke that Zaporizhzhia residents are seeing is an enemy attack on the city. A logistics company terminal has been damaged," Fedorov reported, publishing the first photos of the aftermath. The images show plumes of black smoke rising above the building and fire spots.

### Condition of the facility and casualties

Despite the extensive damage visible in the photographs, no human casualties were reported. Ivan Fedorov stated that no one was injured as a result of the new strike. The company's management confirmed this information.

Nova Poshta head Yevhen Tafiychuk provided details of the incident: "A few minutes ago, a Shahed drone hit our sorting center in Zaporizhzhia. The most important thing is that all our employees were in shelters and were not injured".

### Company response and future plans

Despite the destruction and ongoing threats, the logistics operator does not intend to stop operations. Tafiychuk stated that Russia's constant attacks would not force the company to cease operations. Moreover, Nova Poshta announced the launch of night delivery and night pickup of parcels from post offices to minimize risks for clients and staff under shelling conditions.

### Context of military operations

The attack on the terminal in Zaporizhzhia was part of a series of strikes on Ukraine's civilian infrastructure in early July. Earlier on the same date, the Russian army struck Dnipropetrovsk region with guided aerial bombs (KAB), killing a child and injuring an entire family. On the night of July 1, Dnipropetrovsk region was also attacked by drones, with five gas stations hit. Additionally, a branch of the Yubiley meat processing plant in Zaporizhzhia was previously damaged by a strike from combat drones.
