## 🎯 Key Points

- A Russian drone struck near a shopping mall in Sumy at around 21:10
- One person was killed, two others injured
- Sumy previously faced massive strikes targeting a factory and residential buildings

The armed forces of the Russian Federation carried out another targeted attack on peaceful residential areas of Ukrainian cities, deploying a strike drone against a densely populated district of Sumy. The incident occurred in the evening when a large number of civilians were on the streets and near infrastructure objects, resulting in human casualties and injuries.

### Details of the Evening Attack in Sumy

According to the acting mayor of Sumy, Artem Kobzar, who announced the news on his official Telegram channel, the enemy drone was recorded in the Kovpakivskyi district of the city at around 21:10. The unmanned aerial vehicle detonated in the immediate vicinity of a large shopping center where passersby and visitors were located at the time. As a result of the explosion, one person was killed, and at least two other local residents sustained injuries of varying severity and were rushed to the hospital.

### Escalation of Shelling and Systematic Terror of the Region

This tragic incident fits into the general trend of a sharp increase in airstrikes on the Sumy region by the Russian army. It is worth recalling that just a few days prior, on October 4, enemy shelling in Sumy completely destroyed a large pharmaceutical plant belonging to Kusum Ukraine, killing an employee. In addition, on the morning of the same day, guided aerial bombs destroyed a multi-story residential building, and at the end of September, parts of the city were left without electricity due to systematic attacks on energy facilities.

### Contradictory Data

When analyzing operational reports from various media sources, certain discrepancies arise in the details of the locations and circumstances of the hits. Thus, some official and regional reports indicate that the strike occurred directly near the shopping center where civilians were present. At the same time, certain specialized monitoring channels and news feeds published information suggesting that the drone might have hit people near the entrance of a residential building close to the infrastructure object. Official services continue to clarify all the circumstances of the tragedy and verify the consequences of the strike.

### Consequences for Civilian Infrastructure

Regular strikes using kamikaze drones and guided aerial bombs against Sumy demonstrate the enemy's persistent tactic aimed at intimidating the civilian population and destroying the urban environment. Local authorities and rescue services urge city residents not to ignore air raid alarms and to immediately go to shelters, as the flight time of the weapons remains minimal, and attacks are increasingly recorded during evening and nighttime hours.
