South Korean tech giant Samsung has officially launched its own financial product — the Galaxy Card credit card. The announcement came ahead of the global Galaxy Unpacked event, where the company plans to unveil a new lineup of foldable smartphones, smartwatches, and headphones. RBC-Ukraine reports on the launch of the tool, citing Samsung’s press center.

The card is built on a tiered rewards system, with maximum benefits designed for users who actively consume products within the brand’s ecosystem. The main focus is on stimulating purchases of Samsung devices and accessories.

### Cashback Structure and Usage Terms

The reward accrual mechanism is divided into four key categories, providing cashback based on the type of transaction:

    - **5% cashback** — the maximum rate, applicable to any direct purchases at Samsung branded retail stores or on the company’s official website. For example, buying a flagship Galaxy Fold 7 smartphone for $1500 will earn the cardholder approximately $75 in cashback.

    - **3% cashback** — earned on everyday spending made through the Samsung Wallet contactless payment service.

    - **2% cashback** — provided for payments for subscriptions to popular streaming platforms and other subscription services.

    - **1% cashback** — the standard rate for all other non-cash transactions.

In addition to cashback, Galaxy Card holders will receive additional privileges: a 20% discount on purchasing and renewing extended warranties, as well as on services from the Samsung VIP Advantage loyalty platform.

### Welcome Bonus and Sales Launch

To attract new customers, the company has prepared an aggressive marketing move. Users whose total spending exceeds $2000 within the first 90 days after opening an account will receive a one-time bonus of $200.

Official applications for the Samsung Galaxy Card will open on July 22. The card can be obtained in two ways: via the online service or directly at branded stores. The product launch is synchronized with the Unpacked presentation, allowing buyers to immediately take advantage of the increased cashback when purchasing new devices.

Samsung’s entry into the credit card market continues the trend of tech giants creating their own financial ecosystems. Previously, Apple took a similar step with the launch of the Apple Card, while Amazon has long offered branded payment tools with bonuses for purchases within its network.
