In the skies over Ukraine, as seen in night-time footage, the lights of missile attacks continue to flare up. However, statistics from recent days show an unexpected trend: the intensity of Russian strikes may have decreased significantly. According to experts, this is not a sign of the enemy's fatigue, but a strategic maneuver designed to pave the way for new large-scale operations.

### Alarming statistics: a sharp drop in activity

Gert Kaju, Head of the Defence Readiness Department at the Estonian Ministry of Defence, analyzed data on Russian air aggression over the past week. The figures speak for themselves: Russia launched approximately 900 drones and 12 missiles at Ukrainian territory.

Comparison with previous periods demonstrates a dramatic slowdown in the pace of attacks:

- The number of drones dropped by 35%.

- The number of missile strikes decreased by 84%.

For Gert Kaju, these figures are not a reason for relief, but a "truly alarming sign." In military logic, a sharp reduction in strike intensity often precedes a series of mass attacks.

### Resource accumulation strategy

In the opinion of the Estonian expert, Moscow is effectively saving resources. The goal is simple and dangerous: to stockpile air attack assets to deploy them simultaneously in huge numbers later. Such a scenario places a colossal strain on Ukraine's air defense systems, forcing them to operate at the limit of their capabilities.

According to the analysis, Vladimir Putin has ordered his army to reduce current ammunition expenditure to preserve the potential for new, more powerful waves of attacks.

### Effectiveness of Ukrainian counter-offensives

Gert Kaju separately commented on the impact of Ukraine's long-range campaign on the Kremlin's strategy. According to him, successful strikes on Russian territory are driving Putin into a strategic dead end. The Russian leader is forced to make difficult decisions about which assets to sacrifice in order to preserve others.

"Since air defense assets are insufficient to cover everything, one must choose priority targets. This inevitably involves risks, meaning some objects remain unprotected, and one must accept that they will be destroyed or disabled," explained the representative of the Estonian Ministry of Defence.

This forced economy of air defense resources within Russia itself may indirectly affect the pace of attacks on Ukraine, as resources are redistributed to protect its own territory.

### The situation on the front line and in Crimea

While the air war continues in the sky, the ground situation remains tense. It was previously reported that the occupying authorities in Crimea urgently declared a state of emergency, which came into force on June 26. This decision was a reaction to the growing threat from Ukrainian forces.

Furthermore, data has emerged regarding attempts by Russian occupiers to expand the zone of control east of Sumy. At the same time, the Russian army is suffering colossal losses in the Kharkiv region. The enemy loses hundreds of soldiers per day on this section of the front, yet does not give up attempts to break through forward, despite heavy losses.
