The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) has confirmed a repeat strike on key Russian infrastructure. For the second time in a month, the 'Vtorovo' oil pumping station in the Vladimir region was hit by Ukrainian drones. The facility, which supplies fuel to the Russian capital and export ports, became the target of an operation conducted by the 'Alpha' special unit.

### Strategic target within Zelenskyy's operation

According to an official statement from the SBU press service, the attack was part of a large-scale campaign initiated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The agency's statement emphasizes that the strikes are being carried out as part of a '40-day operation to influence the Russian Federation'. 'Alpha' special forces fulfilled their mission by delivering a successful strike on the linear production and dispatch station.

This is not the first test for the facility: a preliminary attack on the 'Vtorovo' station was recorded on June 10. At that time, the neighboring 'Lobkovo' station, also located in the Vladimir region, was also hit. In both cases, thermal anomalies indicating fires were detected in the areas of the facilities.

### Key logistics hub of Transneft

The 'Vtorovo' station is a critically important element of the infrastructure of PJSC 'Transneft-Upper Volga'. It serves as the main logistics hub for pumping light oil products both to the domestic market and for export.

Through this hub, diesel fuel is transported to the Moscow ring oil product pipeline. It is from here that fuel is distributed to major oil depots serving Moscow and the surrounding regions. In addition, the station supplies oil products for export through the ports of the Baltic Sea.

### Consequences of the strike

Preliminary data suggests that SBU drones hit the technical buildings of the facility. A detonation followed the impact. The repeat strike on the station ensuring the energy security of the Russian capital demonstrates the ability of Ukrainian special services to deliver pinpoint strikes on deeply located enemy infrastructure.
