The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained a cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC MP), who became a key link in organizing a double missile strike on the city in March 2024. ### Church Robes Instead of Camouflage The investigation revealed a shocking detail: the man, recruited by Russian military intelligence, did not remove his church clothing to carry out his dirty tasks. Under the guise of ordinary service, he walked around the city, marking coordinates of potential targets on maps. His recruitment occurred due to his active propaganda activities in Telegram channels, where he openly supported the Kremlin. The data collected by the cleric was transmitted via a chatbot managed by the notorious traitor Sergey Lebedev (callsign "Loxmaty"), who is hiding in Donetsk. It was this information that allowed Russian forces to strike a recreational area in Odesa with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles. ### Cruel Tactics of a Double Strike The scheme was worked out to the smallest detail. The first missile hit a residential area, destroying civilian infrastructure. The second was launched at the moment emergency services arrived, leading to a tragedy: 14 people died, including medics and rescuers, and another 46 were injured. After the attack, the cleric did not disappear immediately. He transmitted data about the consequences of the strike to the intelligence officers and then "went to ground" to avoid exposure. However, the SBU tracked him down, seizing the smartphone used to communicate with the occupiers. ### Spionage Against Air Defense and Energy The detained man's activities were not limited to striking people. According to the investigation, he also revealed the coordinates of the Ukrainian air defense protecting the sky over Odesa. Furthermore, his file includes the transmission of data about one of the key substations and its protection system. After the shelling of the facility, he again reported the results of the attack to the enemy. The court has already chosen a preventive measure: the cleric has been remanded in custody without the right to post bail. He has been officially informed of suspicion of high treason committed under martial law.
