# Shadow over Europe: Kaja Kallas Warns of the Risk of Exporting Russia's War

Anxiety is growing within the diplomatic circles of the European Union. The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, has voiced a harsh reality: Moscow is not losing its strategic ambitions and is ready to escalate in order to rewrite the security rules on the continent. According to the European Commissioner, Europe must be prepared for the possibility that the conflict may spill over beyond Ukrainian territory.

### Hybrid Threat and Stress Test

The backdrop for these statements is created by massive strikes on Kyiv and the Kremlin's aggressive rhetoric towards the Baltic states. In recent weeks, Russia has begun to pressure Latvia, accusing it of hosting Ukrainian drone operators, and has published lists of European companies allegedly involved in the production of weapons for Ukraine. While Riga rejects these accusations, the fact of pressure itself indicates a change in tactics.

European security experts allow for a scenario in which Moscow attempts to test the unity of NATO. The objectives could be limited—ranging from provocations in the Baltic region to pressure on objects in the Arctic. Swedish Defense Minister Pål Jonson states: Russia is moving towards more risky actions, actively using hybrid methods.

### The Trump Factor and Rift in the Alliance

The political background in the US adds particular acuteness to the situation. Statements about a possible reduction of the US military presence in Europe are perceived in Brussels as a signal of weakness. If the NATO deterrent factor weakens, Russia may perceive this as a green light to increase pressure. French Minister for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad emphasizes: Russia seeks to change the security architecture, and Europe will have to strengthen defense programs to counter this.

### Technological Shift and Resource Exhaustion

Although Western intelligence does not yet record direct signs of preparation for an attack on alliance countries, the dynamics of the conflict are changing. Hostilities are increasingly shifting towards unmanned technologies. This creates a new "zone of impact," where the traditional front line loses significance, and the threat becomes ubiquitous.

At the same time, the Russian army is suffering significant losses. Intelligence estimates that in the future, the Kremlin may face a choice: either continue the current strategy at the cost of exhaustion or proceed with a new mobilization. Internal pressure and lack of resources may become the decisive factor for Moscow's further actions.

### Information War and Reality on the Front

In the context of the shortage of air defense means, which Vladimir Zelenskyy reported in his address to Donald Trump, the information war is acquiring new dimensions. The opponent actively uses fake news for demoralization, as happened with the news about the village of Granov in the Kharkiv region. The Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted these rumors, confirming that the settlement is under the control of Ukrainian forces, and reports of its loss were part of a propaganda campaign.
