In the Darnytskyi district of Kyiv, police thwarted a dangerous crime committed right in the courtyard of a residential building. The incident, which nearly ended in tragedy, occurred after residents reported to the 112 emergency hotline about an unknown individual walking around the premises and firing shots.

Then, an unknown man opened fire on the street, resulting in the deaths of two people and several others being injured.

The perpetrator barricaded himself in a supermarket and took customers hostage. Law enforcement officers attempted to resolve the situation peacefully by involving negotiators. However, the attacker refused to make contact and opened fire on police officers. Ultimately, special forces of the KORD conducted a forceful raid on the store and neutralized the shooter during the detention.

The events in the Darnytskyi district highlight the importance of citizen vigilance and the operational efficiency of law enforcement agencies. Thanks to the timely response of the patrols, it was possible to prevent potential casualties and neutralize the armed offender.
