# Sikorski: Nawrocki must demand from Trump the strengthening of NATO's eastern flank and the deportation of Zbro

Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has outlined key priorities for the upcoming meeting between President Karol Nawrocki and US leader Donald Trump. According to the head of the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Warsaw must insist on two fundamental issues: strengthening the military presence of NATO on the eastern flank and annulling the visa of former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Zbro, who is hiding in America.

### Strengthening NATO's eastern flank

According to information provided by RBC-Ukraine citing the Polish publication RMF24, Sikorski believes confirming commitments to defend the region is a top priority. The minister emphasized that the American presence must be increased precisely where there is a real threat to security.

"In our opinion, it (the US presence — ed.) should be increased where it is really needed, namely on the eastern flank, where there is a threat. This is the main thing," Radosław Sikorski stated.

This position was previously supported by Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk. He advised Nawrocki to remind Donald Trump of his previous promises. According to the Prime Minister, Poland is already preparing the necessary infrastructure and financing for the deployment of additional contingents of American troops on its territory.

### The Zbigniew Zbro case

The second important topic for discussion with Washington, Sikorski called the situation with former Minister of Justice Zbigniew Zbro. The official, who is the vice-president of the main opposition party and a member of the Sejm, is wanted on charges of fraud with the Justice Foundation and, according to the investigation, is hiding in the USA.

Sikorski urged President Nawrocki to demand the cancellation of Zbro's visa, calling it "fraudulent." "Zbigniew Z. is not a journalist, he is the vice-president of the main opposition party and a member of parliament. He should be in the Sejm, Warsaw, and not in the United States, so I hope that the president will demand the cancellation of this fraudulent visa," the minister emphasized.

In the opinion of the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, there should be no such precedents between allied countries, where political figures use the territories of partners to evade justice.

### Economic partnership with Germany

In addition to security issues, Radosław Sikorski commented on the economic aspects of Poland's foreign policy. On the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the signing of the Good Neighborly Treaty with Germany, the minister called the cooperation indicators "impressive".

Over the last three decades, trade volumes between Warsaw and Berlin have increased thirtyfold. The daily turnover is now half a billion euros. Thanks to this, Poland, together with the Czech Republic, has become a more significant trading partner for Germany than the USA or China.

### Assessment of the situation in Russia

In the context of foreign policy, Warsaw is also actively assessing the stability of the regime in Moscow against the backdrop of aggression against Ukraine. Earlier, Radosław Sikorski expressed the opinion that Vladimir Putin could be removed from power by representatives of his closest circle.

The minister compared the possible fate of the Russian leader to the story of deposed Roman emperors, who were deprived of power by their own Praetorian guards.
