Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski has issued a worrying warning regarding Russia's strategy in the current conflict. According to the head of Poland's foreign affairs department, Moscow may be preparing a large-scale provocation using foreign flags and, most importantly, Ukrainian drones.

### The "under a foreign flag" scenario

During his visit to the US, Sikorski confirmed that Polish authorities are already expecting such actions from the Kremlin. In an interview with the Polish outlet Polsat News, the minister revealed details of the alleged scenario: Russia could prepare Ukrainian drones and use them to attack either the territory of a NATO member state or Russian territory, in order to then respond to this "attack".

Sikorski noted that similar statements have already been made personally by Vladimir Putin. About a month ago, the Russian President stated his readiness to respond in the event of an attack on Russia by a member state of the alliance. It is precisely these words, according to Warsaw, that are an indicator of the preparation of a provocation.

### Historical parallels and motivation

The Polish minister did not hide his assessment of the Kremlin's motives. According to him, Vladimir Putin resorts to such methods because he is in despair and losing the war. Sikorski drew a direct parallel with historical events, recalling the Gleiwitz provocation of 1939.

"Such regimes always act this way. I would like to recall the Gleiwitz provocation, when Abwehr agents disguised as Polish soldiers seized a radio station on the territory of the Reich," "European Truth" quotes the minister.

The message from Warsaw to Moscow, according to Sikorski, is crystal clear: "We know what you are planning, do not do it".

### Assessment of threats to Poland

Despite the seriousness of the warnings, Sikorski expressed the belief that Russia currently does not have the real means for a direct attack on Poland. However, the risk of provocation remains high. Earlier, the media reported that the United States had already passed a warning to Warsaw that Moscow is considering the possibility of an armed provocation against Poland in order to "test NATO's resolve".
