Sony is actively working on creating a new generation of its cloud and remote gaming device, the PlayStation Portal. According to recent leaks from the Wi-Fi Alliance regulatory database, the Japanese technology giant is preparing to release two modifications of the updated handheld console at once, which have already passed the necessary certification and attracted the attention of industry experts. ### Background and Data Leak In the official documents of the certification authority, the new devices are registered under model numbers CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105. Such marking directly indicates that these are the successors to the original PlayStation Portal model, which was released to the market under the number CFI-Y1001 in late 2023. The presence of two versions simultaneously in the regulator's databases hints at a possible division of the lineup by technical specifications or regional supply features, which generates significant interest in the gaming community. ### Hardware Base and Android 15 Integration An important technical discovery is that both new models operate under the control of the Android 15 operating system. This indirectly confirms the continuity of the original gadget's concept, which was also based on Google's mobile platform, unlike the stationary consoles of the PlayStation family that use proprietary software. Using the current OS version can significantly increase interface stability and improve the device's overall energy efficiency. ### Expected Innovations and OLED Screen The main intrigue of the upcoming release remains the transition to a new type of screen. Well-known insider KeplerL2 previously reported that one of the modifications in development will receive a modern OLED display instead of the classic 8-inch LCD panel installed in the first version. Such a replacement will provide deeper blacks, increased contrast, and vibrant colors, which is critically important for comfortable gaming via cloud streaming. ### Prospects and Company Reaction Despite the appearance of documents in the public domain, official representatives of Sony's gaming division are refraining from any comments, keeping the intrigue around the announcement dates and pricing of the new products alive. However, experts agree that the release of a PlayStation Portal with an improved display will strengthen the Japanese brand's position in the rapidly growing market of portable gaming streaming solutions. CFI-Y1001. ## ❓ FAQ ### Q: What model numbers of new Sony devices appeared in the Wi-Fi Alliance? **A:** In the regulator's database, the devices are listed under numbers CFI-Y2000 and CFI-Y2105. ### Q: What operating system is used in the new portable consoles? **A:** According to the documentation, the devices run on the Android 15 operating system. ### Q: What are the main hardware improvements expected in the new generation? **A:** The main expected improvement is the transition to an OLED display instead of the previous LCD panel.
