The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is considering a draft resolution that could become a landmark moment for the history of Ukrainian statehood and Christian confessions. The document provides for the official adoption of the Spiritual Anthem of Ukraine — the composition 'God, Great, One'.

### Historical Heritage and Modern Resonance

At the center of the parliamentarians' attention is a masterpiece created by outstanding figures of Ukrainian culture. The text of the work was written in 1885 by the writer Oleksandr Konysky, and the music was composed by Mykola Lysenko — the father of Ukrainian classics. The resolution features the text edition by Oleksandr Koshits.

This musical composition, also known as the 'Prayer for Ukraine', has deep historical roots. For over a century, it has united Ukrainians during the most difficult periods: during wars, underground activities, and the struggle for independence. A symbolic event was the performance of the Lviv choir 'Homyn' in November 2025 in Paris on the stage of 'Salle Gaveau'. It was in this hall, 106 years ago, that the famous 'Shchedryk' and the Spiritual Anthem of Ukraine were first heard.

### Legal Status and Order of Performance

The registered document clearly defines the place of the Spiritual Anthem in the system of state symbols. The authors of the resolution emphasize that the new status of the work will not change the legal status of the State Anthem of Ukraine, enshrined in the Constitution and laws of the country.

Nevertheless, the regulations for using the anthem establish a strict order of actions during solemn events of all-state significance:

- The Spiritual Anthem will be performed immediately after the State Anthem of Ukraine.

- Attendees are required to listen to the composition while standing.

- Men must be without headgear.

- Service members act in accordance with the requirements of military regulations.

### Special Events and International Recognition

Special attention in the document is paid to parliamentary practice. A separate clause establishes that during the session of the Verkhovna Rada on the National Day of Prayer, the Spiritual Anthem of Ukraine must be performed.

Furthermore, the Cabinet of Ministers has been recommended to develop a complex of measures to popularize this composition. In particular, it is planned to facilitate the use of the anthem by foreign diplomatic missions of Ukraine, which will allow the country's spiritual values to be transmitted at the international level.

### Connection with the National Pantheon

In the context of strengthening state symbolism and memory, the Cabinet of Ministers also adopted a resolution defining the location for the Ukrainian National Pantheon. According to the document, its location will be on the territory of the National Nature Reserve 'Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra'.

The resolution on the Spiritual Anthem enters into force on the day following its official publication, securing a new level of state significance for the historical composition.
