Tuesday, June 18, will be a day of unstable weather for residents of Ukraine. According to a forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cited by RBC-Ukraine, the country is expected to experience changes in atmospheric conditions: ranging from moderate precipitation to gusty winds.

### Geography of precipitation: where to expect downpours

Meteorologists warn that rains of varying intensity are likely both at night and during the day, although their geographical distribution will be uneven. The most active precipitation is forecast for the southern and eastern regions of the country. At night, the zone of influence of rain clouds will shift to most of the central regions.

Particular attention is required for the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions. During the night hours, significant rainfall is possible in these areas, which will require residents to exercise increased caution. On the north-east of Ukraine, meteorologists expect local brief light rains during the day, which may be accompanied by thunderstorms. The rest of the country's territory, according to UkrGMC data, will remain in a zone without precipitation.

### Wind and conditions in Kyiv

In addition to precipitation, the weather on June 18 will be characterized by an active wind regime. The wind will blow predominantly from the north-west, with speeds ranging from 7 to 12 meters per second. Such conditions may affect the comfort of travel and the state of foliage on city streets.

For the capital and the Kyiv region, the forecast also does not promise sunny weather. Variable cloudiness is expected throughout the day. Residents of the region should be prepared for changing conditions, although there has currently been no direct warning of heavy downpours in the capital region.

### Context of climate change

Episodes of unstable weather in mid-summer are not something new for modern Ukraine. Previously, UkrGMC specialists had already given a generalized forecast for June, noting its variability. Experts have also repeatedly pointed out the influence of global climate change on weather conditions in the country, discussing the possibility of preventing the negative consequences of such transformations.
