Ukrainian intelligence and security services continue to deliver systematic strikes against Russian aviation infrastructure in temporarily occupied territories. On the night of June 26, 2026, a new incident occurred at the 'Belbek' airfield in Crimea, continuing a series of successful operations to destroy enemy military equipment.

### Operation at 'Belbek' Airfield

According to the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (GUR), on the night of June 25-26, specialists from the Department of Unmanned Systems carried out an attack on the strategically important 'Belbek' airfield. The result of the operation was the destruction of a Russian MiG-29 fighter jet.

The operation was conducted with high precision. In addition to the aircraft itself, the drone strike hit an airfield launch installation. At the time of the attack, the vehicle was in close proximity to the fighter jet, performing maintenance functions for the combat aircraft. This led to a fire and the total loss of the equipment.

### Scale of Damage

Experts estimate the material damage from this attack at tens of millions of dollars. The destruction of a modern fighter jet and specialized ground equipment delivers a direct blow to the combat capability of the aviation group stationed on the peninsula.

### Series of Strikes on 'Saki' Airfield

The attack on 'Belbek' is not an isolated event. It fits into the context of the active work of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) to strike aviation bases in Crimea. On the night of July 1, SBU drones struck the 'Saki' military airfield.

As a result of the operation, five drone hits were recorded on hangars where aviation equipment was stored. According to preliminary data, Su-30 and Su-30SM fighter jets were located in two of the damaged hangars at the time of the attack. After the strike, a strong fire was recorded in the hangar with the Su-30SM, indicating a successful hit on the target.

### Second Wave of Attacks

Just a week later, on July 3, SBU drones returned to the 'Saki' airfield and additionally struck hangars at the 'Gvardeyskoye' airfield.

During this wave of attacks on 'Saki', seven hangars for storing aviation equipment were destroyed. They housed Su-30SM, Su-30, and Su-24 fighter jets and front-line bombers. According to preliminary information, as a result of these strikes, at least seven aircraft were destroyed or damaged.

These events demonstrate the ability of Ukrainian special services to coordinate actions and strike complex targets deep in the enemy's rear, causing significant damage to the Russian Aerospace Forces.
