# Strike on Fuel: Ukrainian Forces Attack Giant Lukoil Refinery in Perm and Training Ground in Zaporizhzhia

Ukrainian Defense Forces have carried out a series of successful strikes on the enemy's critical infrastructure. On the night of July 30, targets in the deep rear of Russia and on temporarily occupied territories came under fire. According to a report from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, fires broke out at the enterprises as a result of the attacks, and the scale of the damage is currently being assessed.

### Target of the Strike: One of Russia's Largest Refineries

The main target of the attack was the "Lukoil-Permnefteorgsintez" oil refinery located in the Perm Krai. The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasizes that this is not just an industrial facility, but one of the largest refineries on the territory of the Russian Federation. The plant's capacity is estimated at 13 million tons of oil per year.

The plant is a key supplier of fuel for the Russian economy and army. Its product range includes automotive gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, bitumens, and lubricants. According to the Ukrainian side, the enterprise directly supplies the needs of the enemy's military-industrial complex.

As a result of the strike, a fire broke out at the plant. Visual confirmation and reports indicate that the facility has sustained serious damage, which could lead to a reduction in the production of fuel and lubricants for the needs of the Russian army.

### Strike on Training Ground in Zaporizhzhia

Parallel to the attack on the industrial giant in Perm, the Ukrainian Defense Forces struck the Russian "Primorsky Posad" training ground. The facility is located on the temporarily occupied territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. Training grounds of this type are used for personnel training and tactical exercises, making them strategically important targets.

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the exact scale of damage to both facilities — both the refinery in Perm and the training ground in Zaporizhzhia — will be announced later. The assessment of the attack results is currently ongoing.

### Context: Strikes on the Rear

These events fit into the general strategy of striking the enemy's rear infrastructure. Previously, Ukrainian forces attacked other large refineries included in the top 5 most powerful in Russia, as well as military bases in Crimea. Attacks on fuel infrastructure and logistics hubs are designed to disrupt the supply of the Russian army and reduce its combat effectiveness.
