Footage of the launch of the Ukrainian 'Flamingo' missile has appeared online, which, according to sources, hit a critically important facility of the Russian military-industrial complex. The target is the 'Avitek' engineering plant located in Kirov, which is part of the 'Almaz-Antey' Air and Missile Defense Corporation.

### Strategic significance of the target

The 'Avitek' plant plays a key role in the Russian defense industry. The enterprise specializes in the production of a wide range of aircraft components, surface-to-air guided missiles, target drones, and ejection seats. According to data, the plant was involved in the creation of the 'Tor' surface-to-air missile system.

Experts pay particular attention to the fact that the plant supplied components for the engines of Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A cruise missiles. Furthermore, the enterprise carried out the production, repair, and modernization of K-36DM ejection seats, which are installed on modern Su-34 and Su-57 fighters.

### Confirmation of the strike

Information about the strike on the plant was confirmed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. He stated that the strike was carried out against a facility in Kirov engaged in the production of missile components. This is also reported by RBK-Ukraine citing the Fire Point Telegram channel.

The attack on Kirov took place in the morning of July 24. According to preliminary data, the 'Avitek' enterprise was the target of the strike, causing damage to the production of aircraft components and pilot rescue equipment.

### Context of night operations

The strike on Kirov was part of a large-scale series of attacks by the Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out on the night of July 23. During this period, strikes were launched against several military and military-economic facilities on Russian territory. The targets of the attacks included:

- A tanker in the Black Sea transporting fuel for the Russian army;

- A pontoon crossing;

- An area of troop concentration in the Donetsk region.

Thus, the attack on the plant in Kirov demonstrates the expansion of the geography and depth of strikes on the enemy's rear facilities, aimed at undermining its production chains.
