# Strike on the Chongar Bridge: Occupiers' Logistics Paralyzed, Shortages Begin in Crimea

On the night of June 9, the Defense Forces of Ukraine struck the Chongar Bridge — the only short and strategically vital road connecting occupied Crimea to the mainland. The drone attack resulted in a complete blockade of traffic across the Sivash Strait crossing.

As reported by RBK-Ukraine citing Defense Ministry advisor Serhiy Sterненко, strikes on infrastructure are continuing systematically. As a result of the attack, movement across the bridge has been blocked, and emergency services are working at the site.

### Occupation Authorities Urge Detours

Russia-appointed head of the occupied part of the Kherson region, Vladimir Saldo, confirmed the incident. According to him, Russian air defense systems intercepted more than 20 drones approaching the target.

“Most targets were destroyed before reaching the object. Thanks to our defenders for their work. Without their actions, the consequences could have been far more serious,” Saldo wrote in his Telegram channel.

However, despite claims of interception, the bridge was blocked. Saldo was forced to appeal to drivers to use alternative routes via Arмянск and Perekop. These paths are significantly longer and create serious logistical difficulties for transporting equipment and ammunition.

### Disruption of Supply Chains

The Chongar Bridge was a key hub through which occupation forces transferred resources from the peninsula to the southern front. Its blockade exacerbates supply problems for the Russian grouping.

Earlier, the Special Operations Forces (SSO) established control over the Melitopol-Chongar land route. In this section, drones systematically destroy enemy vehicles and fuel tankers, which has already significantly complicated the enemy’s supply lines in the south.

### Shortages in Crimea

The consequences of strikes on logistics have begun to manifest in daily life. In occupied Crimea, food shortages are being recorded. Basic goods are disappearing from stores: sugar, cereals, flour, and pasta. The disruption of supply chains through damaged infrastructure directly affects product availability on the peninsula.
