# Strikes on Logistics: How Attacks on Bridges in Crimea Reduced Russian Assault Activity in the South

A noticeable decrease in the intensity of hostilities has been observed on the southern front. According to Vladyslav Volyshyn, spokesperson for the Southern Forces of the Defense Forces, the number of assault operations by Russian troops has decreased by approximately 15% over the last four to five days. While around 50 combat encounters were previously recorded daily, this number has now dropped to 35–37.

### Impact of Logistics Strikes

Volyshyn emphasized that this decline is directly linked to a series of Ukrainian strikes on the enemy's logistical hubs. "There is no such high intensity as the enemy expected, since he concentrated a certain amount of forces and means here to activate in the South. Our 'middle-strike' attacks on enemy logistics prevented him from starting his activation during this period," the spokesperson noted.

### Attacks on Key Crossings

The first strike on the Chonhar Bridge was carried out on June 7. Following the attack, traffic across the crossing was only partially resumed—in a reversible mode. By June 9, the bridge was targeted by drones again, and transport communication through it ceased completely. In response, the occupation authorities began recommending the use of alternative routes through Armenian and Perekop.

On the morning of June 10, movement was also blocked on the bridge between Henichesk and the Arabat Spit—the second strategically important crossing in the temporarily occupied part of the Kherson region. Its operation was limited for several days following the attacks on the Chonhar Bridge.

### Explosions in Crimea

On the night of June 11, explosions were heard in occupied Crimea. Local Telegram channels reported fires in Simferopol and Sevastopol, as well as possible damage to bridge crossings connecting the peninsula with the mainland.

On June 13, the Russian side again announced strikes on transport infrastructure on the approaches to Crimea. According to Sevastopol Governor Vladimir Saldo, drones attacked the bridge between Henichesk and the Arabat Spit.

### Tactical Effect

The series of strikes on logistical hubs, including bridges and transport arteries, allowed Ukrainian forces to disrupt the enemy's plans for activation in the south. This not only reduced the number of assaults but also forced the occupiers to reconsider supply routes and the transfer of equipment.

The effectiveness of such operations is confirmed not only by statistics but also by the enemy's reaction—from attempts to restore movement to calls to use detours. Under conditions of limited logistics, the ability of Russian troops to maintain high intensity of combat operations is significantly reduced.
