# 15,000 UAH and service housing: what bonuses are being prepared for young doctors in Ukraine

Young specialists just starting their careers in medicine will receive significant support from the state. The Ministry of Health of Ukraine has announced a comprehensive set of measures aimed at retaining staff and stimulating work within the healthcare system. The state's arsenal ranges from a guaranteed salary to free housing.

### Guarantees for interns

This year, the distribution for internship will be large-scale: more than 3,100 graduates of medical universities will participate. For those who choose the state-funded form of education, the state has provided a number of social guarantees.

The key change is the establishment of a minimum wage level for medical interns — it amounts to 15,000 UAH per month. The department emphasizes that this is the floor, not the ceiling. Medical institutions have the full right to set higher rates depending on the workload and specifics of the work.

### Financial support and housing

In addition to a regular salary, a one-time payment program has been introduced for graduates. Starting in 2025, the assistance amount is 200,000 UAH. Statistics show that the program is in demand: last year, 83 doctors already received such a payment. The Ministry of Health confirmed that the program is extended for 2026 as well.

Special attention is paid to housing issues. The state takes on the financing of acquiring service housing for doctors and medical workers employed in priority vacancies in municipal institutions.

Participation in the housing program is available to Ukrainian citizens under 50 years of age who are ready to move to work in rural medical institutions. The department also noted that work is currently underway to simplify the requirements for applicants to make the program more accessible.
