According to open sources, at least 25 cases of damage or complete destruction of warehouse infrastructure have been recorded since the beginning of the year as a result of Russian attacks. The targets included not only local facilities but also strategically important distribution centers of the largest retailers. ### Scale of Destruction: From Yahotyn to Dnipro Statistics confirm that strikes against logistics are systematic in nature and not random incidents. At the beginning of the year, serious damage was sustained by industry giants such as Roshen and ATB. The Roshen logistics center in Yagotin suffered losses exceeding $20 million. ATB was not spared from losses either: a Class "A" distribution center with an area of 37,500 square meters was destroyed in Dnipro. A particularly severe blow was dealt to "Clover Stores," which lost about 75% of its warehouse infrastructure in Lutsk. Such losses threaten the uninterrupted supply of stores, yet businesses are forced to operate in a mode of emergency adaptation. ### "Nova Poshta" and the Geography of Losses The dangerous trend is growing: strikes are increasingly targeting logistics operators specifically. A striking example is the situation with "Nova Poshta." In just the last three months, the company has lost at least eight facilities. The geography of the damage covers almost all regions of the country: from Lutsk and the Odesa region to Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Dnipro, and Sumy. Visual evidence of destruction, such as the aftermath of the attack on the warehouse in Dnipro, demonstrates the scale of the disaster: destroyed racks, tons of debris and ash, and damaged roofs through which light is piercing. ### New Logistics Philosophy: Security Over Economy Constant attacks are forcing businesses to radically change their approach to organizing work. If before 2022 the priority was economy and cost minimization, now risk distribution and ensuring supply continuity have moved to the forefront. Most affected companies, including ATB, "Nova Poshta," and Euromix, have publicly announced the operational redirection of goods flows. The main goal is to avoid shortages on shelves and delivery delays for the end consumer. ### Decentralization as a Survival Strategy The logistics format in Ukraine has changed fundamentally. Instead of creating one powerful hub in the center of the country, companies are moving to a model of distributed regional warehouses, even if this entails additional costs. "Instead of keeping everything in Kyiv, as was the case before 2022, they divide one large warehouse into different regions: now they have, for example, a smaller warehouse in Kyiv, a warehouse in Lviv, and, for example, in Dnipro," notes Hennadii Hrynenko, Commercial Director of the development company Alterra Group. Such decentralization allows businesses to respond promptly to security threats that they face daily. Despite systemic attacks and destruction, Ukrainian retailers demonstrate high resilience, restructuring routes and capacities to keep store shelves full.
