Against the backdrop of massive problems with domestic fuel production, Russia is forced to seek alternative sources of energy resources. Fresh data confirms that a large shipment of AI-92 gasoline has been imported into the country from Morocco. The volume of the shipment amounted to approximately 30,000 metric tons.

### Import Logistics: From Tangier to the Arctic

Sources in the fuel industry have reported details of the delivery route. A tanker flying the flag of Panama was loaded at the port of Tangier in mid-July. After the sea voyage, the vessel arrived at the Russian Arctic port of Murmansk, where the unloading process is currently underway.

Confirmation of the presence of fuel on Russian territory is provided by data from the Saint Petersburg International Mercantile Exchange (SPIMEX). According to exchange information, AI-92 gasoline is already being offered for railway delivery from the Kola station, which serves the port infrastructure of Murmansk.

### Causes of the Deficit: Strikes on Refineries

The need for imports is a consequence of the critical state of the Russian oil refining industry. Over the past two months, Ukrainian drones have struck facilities in the deep rear, disabling about 40% of Russian refinery capacities.

These attacks have led to a systemic fuel shortage, which has been felt by approximately 50 million residents of the Russian Federation. The situation at gas stations has been complicated by interruptions in fuel availability, which is directly related to the loss of production capacity.

### Economic Consequences and Government Reaction

The fuel crisis has begun to have a negative impact on the country's macroeconomy. The head of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, Elvira Nabiullina, officially acknowledged that problems with fuel supply are already reflected in the cost of goods and services.

President of Russia Vladimir Putin also acknowledged the existence of problems with fuel supply. At the same time, he asserts that the current situation "is not critical," despite the need for imports and extensive damage to infrastructure.
