Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced an expansion of the powers of the head of Ukraine's delegation to the EU. Taras Kachka, who is already leading complex negotiations regarding the country's accession to the European Union, will combine this role with the function of Ukraine's trade representative. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the head of state.

### Strategy for work in Brussels

Zelenskyy justified this decision by the need for maximum efficiency under current conditions. According to him, it is precisely at the Ukrainian representation in Brussels that Kachka will be able to most effectively implement trade tasks. The President emphasized that the diplomat has extensive experience in trade policy, making him an ideal candidate to combine these two key areas of work.

The new powers will include the implementation of bilateral trade agreements with Ukraine's key partners. This decision aims to accelerate and deepen the country's economic interaction with the outside world against the backdrop of the ongoing EU integration process.

### Expectations and next steps

During his speech, the President noted that Kyiv expects decisions to be made on four more negotiation clusters. Although important results have already been achieved, Zelenskyy insists on the need to intensify work. Now the focus is shifting to sectoral and more detailed elaboration of issues within the already opened clusters.

The key task for the near future will be strengthening communication. This refers not only to interaction with EU institutions but also with the governments of member states. The goal of these efforts is to open the next negotiation clusters and advance Ukraine's EU accession process to a new stage.
