The tranquility of the Swiss city of Winterthur was disrupted on Thursday morning. Shortly after 08:30, a tragedy unfolded on the grounds of the railway station: an unknown individual armed with a knife attacked random passersby. Three people were injured in the incident, one of whom is in critical condition.

Local authorities did not delay in assessing the situation: the attack has been officially classified as a terrorist act. The suspect, a 31-year-old Swiss citizen, was quickly apprehended by law enforcement officers.

### Chronicle of Panic and Eyewitness Accounts

The atmosphere at the station instantly shifted from morning bustle to panic. According to witnesses, the attacker behaved aggressively before the assault, shouting the phrase "Allahu akbar." A young witness, who gave an interview to the newspaper Blick, recounted that the man repeated this slogan several times, causing horror among children and adults who scattered in fear.

Details of the struggle with the criminal were described by 65-year-old taxi driver Turhan Muslu. He witnessed the perpetrator attempting to stab a man with a knife. The victim resisted desperately until law enforcement arrived and subdued the attacker. Another taxi driver, Bashar Iqbal, expressed his shock at the events, noting that the city's residents long for peace and tranquility.

### Official Position and Consequences

Mario Fer, Director of the Security Department of the Canton of Zurich, confirmed the terrorist nature of the crime at a press conference. Marius Weiermann, a representative of the cantonal police, added that, according to preliminary data, the suspect's motives are linked to radicalization and extremism.

Three victims, Swiss citizens aged between 28 and 52, were hospitalized in an emergency. Despite the drama of the situation, the station's operations were not paralyzed: the Swiss Federal Railways reported that train services were not disrupted, and the transport artery continued to function normally.
